Brazilian waxing (also known as waxing your "nether regions" completely bare) is possibly about to be banned in the state of New Jersey due to 2 complaints from women alleging they were injured after a Brazilian waxing service was performed on them.
Aestheticians and Cosmetologists perform thousands of Brazilian waxing services each year, and for the salons who offer this service, it could result in a HUGE loss of income.
Being a licensed aesthetician and skin care practice owner myself, Brazilian waxing is service that I offer and is extremely popular with my client base. I'm not in NJ, but I would be livid (and so would my clients) if my state board decided to ban this service from my practice's menu.
QUESTION: How do you feel about a governing body taking away your right to choose a service, whether it's Brazilian waxing or let's say massage therapy? What are your thoughts on this? Please leave a comment below. Thank you!

I have only 1 thing to say & I do not know the answer to this & I do not have time now to check into it but "do they allow abortions?"

I believe that they do. However, due to pressure from angry salon owners AND clients, NJ has decided to overturn the proposed ban on Brazilian waxing. I think that's the best decision as I'm sure the state of NJ has bigger issues to deal with than Brazilian waxing.

I don't like waxing but I would probably be upset if I were someone that did get these services and was told that they would no longer be available to me.
I gave your blog an award! b/c I think you blog is fabulous. :0)

Funny, I was going to talk about this on my blog, too. But I just wanted to mention how this one salon was FREAKING out because they make $90,000 a year in bikini waxes. That's a nine followed by four zeros. Goodness, that's a lot of pubic hair. LOL

Wow that's interesting. Good news though, they make easy to use bikini hair removal creams. They work just as good as a wax for women who still want to be clean down there.

bad news for the brazilian waxing industry. hairs from down there generate lots of money though its a really tough job.. XD

Yes Lisa, it can be a 'tough' job. lol
I'm speaking from experience as I specialize in Brazilian waxing in my skin care practice.

I can't believe that Brazilian wax is going to be banned. The reaction of it may be on those individual women only... thanks for the information...!
